Welcome Box

Overview:

McGraw Hill approached me about creating a welcome box as a perk for new employees of McGraw Hill education. The welcome box would be mailed to the new employee as a way to make the onboarding process more meaningful and enjoyable. Included in the box would be items like a thermos for hot and cold drinks, branded pens and notepads and illustrated cards that detailed working life at McGraw Hill.

Process:

I pitched the box design as well as the design of each of the individual cards via thumbnail sketches. I also wrote the copy that appears on the box, another way that the welcome box is personalized. The TPM assigned to the project was able to give feedback, and over various iterations we began to develop a particular “voice” that was friendly, fun and engaging.
