App Storyboards And Animatics

Recently I was asked to create a presentation to help pitch a new app that would provide learning content on the go. The presentation was to be story-based to help illuminate what the app could do, highlighting three different people at different stages of their learning journey. I pitched the idea of creating animatics, which are essentially moving storyboards, instead of using static images.

I partnered with a UX designer who created the mobile UX and animation assets, while I storyboarded the script and assembled, animated and edited all of these elements into an animatic.

By creating storyboards and then animatics for the the final output, we were able to quickly assemble a more dynamic, engaging presentation. Shown here are the results: three individual stories that highlight various learning journeys.

In addition to the animatics, I created model sheets and test animations to promote the idea of fully animated pieces that could be done once the project was green lit.

My Role: Character design, storyboards and animatics, background design and art, animation, editing and FX.
